"And please don’t believe rumors, don’t hate us. Even in China, people started to voice their anger against the ones from Wuhan. It’s not nice to make fun of such a tragic event.", Hong wrote.

"It really feels like END OF WORLD here in China, and it is not a drill. Empty shops, restaurants, parks, streets ... body temperature checking at the hotels and transit systems. Wearing a mask is a must in the public. Wuhan, the city started this outbreak with more people than NYC was quarantined.
People are panicked, they have disappeared from the public places. I just heard a vehicle passing outside with some loud announcement. The national holidays have been extended to at least Feb 3rd. It is scary to see the number of the diagnosed increases by hundreds every day.
It is actually pretty safe being outside because there is no one. No cold, no flu, no pollution. I am just hungry ... found a Starbucks that is still open.
For those living in the States, chance of getting this virus is near zero. The death rate is so far less than 1% outside of Wuhan. Still, you should be very careful with type B flu. It’s been around in the US.
And please don’t believe rumors, don’t hate us. Even in China, people started to voice their anger against the ones from Wuhan. It’s not nice to make fun of such a tragic event. I am flying back home Sunday, hope I will survive by then.
Timothy Lomas : black and white, life is still good."
