Unang kaso ng pasyenteng may coronavirus sa bansa, kumpirmado

Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, naitala ang unang kaso ng pasyenteng infected ng novel coronavirus o 2019-nCoV sa bansa.

Kinumpirna ng Department of Health sa isang press conference ang masamang balitang ito Huwebes, January 30.

Ang pasyenteng nagkaroon ng killer virus ay isang 38-year-old Chinese na nanggaling sa Wuhan, China ayon kay Health Secretary Francisco Duque III.

Dumating umano sa Pilipinas ang babaeng may sakit noong January 21, via Hong Kong.

"The patient sought consult and was admitted in one of the country’s government hospitals last Jan. 25 after experiencing mild cough. She is currently asymptomatic… which means she has no fever, and no other signs and symptoms suggesting illness at this point," saad ni Duque.

Samantala, siniguro naman niya ang publiko na nakatutok sila sa kasong ito.

"I assure the public that the DOH is on top of this evolving situation. We were able to detect the first confirmed case because of our strong surveillance system, close coordination with the World Health Organization and other national agencies, and the utilization of DOH’s decision tool, or the evaluation assessment tool," dagdag pa nya.
