"OA na e. Hard sell na masyado."
Trudeau visited various communities in the country during his visit for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit held this week.
The Canadian Prime Minister allowed the people to take photos with him, and on Sunday, while visiting Tondo, he visited the fastfood chain Jollibee.
Trudeau, also quite popular for his looks, is known for his gimmicks of letting people have photo opportunities with him.
Thinking Pinoy, through its writer RJ Nieto said, "Guapo si Justin Trudeau, I'll give him that. Pero hindi ba medyo sobra na yung photo ops?"
"I mean, I'm cool with a few stolen shots, pero almost round-the-clock coverage ng mga OMG-he-is-so-cute moments is starting to feel like it's staged, kahit na staged really well. So ako parang, "Justin, you're really gorgeous, but please do take it down a notch," he added.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his dismay at Trudeau after the latter commented on his drug war, being the only one among the leaders who raised his voice about it.
By the end of the ASEAN Summit, Duterte attacked the Prime Minister and said that his comment was a "personal and official insult".
“I only answer to the Filipino. I will not answer to any other bullshit, especially foreigners. Lay off.”
Earlier in the day, Trudeau told a news conference that during his meeting with Duterte “the president was receptive to my comments and it was throughout a very cordial and positive exchange”.
Duterte said Trudeau was only informed about the extrajudicial killings without even being informed about the details of the incidents.
He said he told Trudeau that the Philippine government should be given the “simple rule of the right to be heard”.
He also advised the foreign leader “not to get documents from the oppositions and the communists because they were all falsified.”
