RJ Nieto to Roque: Why do you love to talk more than you should?

Thinking Pinoy's RJ Nieto on Wednesday criticized Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque after the latter appealed to President Rodrigo Duterte's supporters to "leave legitimate journalists alone".

"WHY DO YOU LOVE TO TALK MORE THAN YOU SHOULD?
YOU are the presidential spokesperson. We DO NOT CARE about what YOU want. We care about what THE PRESIDENT wants YOU to tell us on his behalf. STOP making press briefings about you," the  Facebook post of Thinking Pinoy read.



Roque who earlier threatened to throw hollow blocks at stubborn critics of Duterte, urged the “Duterte Diehard Supporters” or DDS to just give “hot pandesal” to journalists who are critical of the President.

“To my DDS friends: Please leave Pia Ranada alone. Let us please not throw anything at legitimate journalists. Let’s give them, particularly the critical ones, hot pandesal instead,” he said in his Facebook page.

Roque said this after Nieto urged him throw hollow block at Ranada – a Rappler reporter assigned to cover Malacañang and President Rodrigo Duterte.

Nieto then responded by defending bloggers like him, and claiming that Roque should only focus on his job as being the spokesperson of the President and not use the position to relay his own opinions.

The blogger also complained that legitimate news journalists are actually stopping mere bloggers like him from getting a story from the President.

"We watch press briefings because we want to learn what the president has to say. We do not care about your own personal thoughts. We do not care about your aspirations.

DO NOT teach other officials who ARE NOT under you how to do their jobs for the simple reason that THAT IS NOT YOUR JOB.
