The family members of the SAF44 or the members of the Philippine National Police Special Armed Force who were killed in the Mamamasapano massacre in 2015 appealed to the Supreme Court to review the decision of the Ombudsman regarding the case.

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales had the case reckless imprudence resulting in multitude homicide and physical injuries agaisnt former President Benigno Aquino, former PNP Chief Alan Purisima and  Special Action Force (SAF) Director Getulio Napeñas.

The 46-page petition for certiorari with prayer for temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction, according to the VACC is now finished.



The  petitioners prayed that their testimonials be heard.

According to Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, the initial decision of the Ombudsman only shows that it favors President Aquino.

It has been over two years since the incident which took place on Jan 25, 2015 at Tukanalipao, Mamasapano, Maguindanao against the Bangsangmoro Islamic Freedom Fighters and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front to capture the Malaysian terrorist Zulkifli Abdhir.
