The Department of Transportation deemed the report of ABS-CBN headlined "Tugade tells public: Pray forMRT" as "malicious and misleading".

According to the DOTr, while ABS was able to quote Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade well, the headline was maliciously framed.

In a press statement released on November 9, the DOTr said that issues concerning the MRT-3 are serious and so is the department in its effort to solve them.

"We are taking bold steps to ensure that the system is safe and reliable. We are not just waiting for a miracle," it read.

Tugade's statement was one of asking the public to lend help by contributing prayers to solve the problems.

"Tulungan niyo po kami. Bigyan nyo kami ng tiwala. Ambuhan nyo kami ng dasal. Pagkat ang problema ho sa MRT ay masyadong malawak at malalim. Huwag tayo umasa ng milagro pero gagwin antin ang ating makakaya," he said.

DOTr then said that while it recognizes the full quote released by ABS, its headlining was flawed.

It alleged that the act was for "clickbait".

It added that it urges ABS-CBN to be "truthful and not post misleading headlines, if it were to really serve the Filipino people".

It added "3NoToHeadlineTwisting" in its statement.
