According to Biliran Congressman Glenn Chong, he filed a case on the grounds of graft and corruption and gross misconduct against COMELEC OIC Christan Robert Lim.
He said that such case was brought about by the alleged participation of Lim in the multi-million peso deal of COMELEC with Smartmatic.
Although Lim is set to retire on February of next year, Chong said that he is determined to have him held liable for his actions.
"Mabigat yung kasalanan niya eh nakipag-private negotiation siya sa Smartmatic doon sa P240-million contract, hindi dapat private negotiation sabi yan ng Supreme Court, ang complaint ko kasi laban sa kanya is base sa kaso ng Pabillo vs. Comelec and Smartmatic tsaka IBP vs. Comelec and Smartmatic, sinabi ng Korte Suprema na ang ginawa ni acting Chairman Christian Robert Lim ngayon noong 2015 ay labag sa batas dahil nakipag-private negotiation siya sa Smartmatic," Chong said in an interview with Balitang Todong Lakas.
The district representative added that since the recent ousting of COMELEC Chair Andy Bautista, the credibility of the body will be continually attacked.
He said that will not stop unless COMELEC removes Smartmatic as its partner in conducting national elections.
Chong said that since 2013, he has filed four to five cases against Smartmatic although it has not yet been taken cognition of by the Supreme Court.

“Lahat naman ng ginagawa ng Comelec ngayon all points to that direction, Smartmatic pa rin ang gagamitin sa 2019, kung open talaga ang bidding process, yung procurement natin, at sasali ang iba, atleast may chance na magkaroon ng more credible election, kasi ang Smartmatic ang problema sa kanila, hindi nila sinusunod ang batas, like for example nung nangyari noong 2016, kinalikot nila ang transparency server sa kasagsagan ng bilangan ng boto, panong hindi ka magdududa?” he said.
Chong is also one of those who led Bongbong Marcos' vice presidential election protest against Vice President Leni Robredo.
