"Yung mga bumabato sa akin ngayong kaaga pa lang, mamatay kayo sa inggit," he said.
Asked by Presidential Communications and Operations Office Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson as to what he has to offer, Roque said that he and President Rodrigo Duterte are alike in a sense that he too was lawyer, with a reputation for his fiery words.
"Sabi niya, pareho kaming may malikot na mga dila."
He said the people can expect that he will defend the president.
"Asahan nyo po na hindi tayo papayag na lapastanganin ang Presidente natin ng walang kasagutan at binibigyan ko na po ng notice yung mga walang-hiya dyan na naninira lamang".
"Kung dati-rati hindi kayo nababato bagama't kayo'y nambabato, ngayon po ay maghanda na kayo, Dahil pag kayo'y anmbato, hindi lang po bato ang itatatapon ko sa inyo, hollow blocks!"
He said his critics should prepare for him.
"Abangan nyo po ang mga adobe at hallow blocks na itatapon ko sa inyo"
He said that if his critics would want to, they should just help the country in its multitude of problems.
Roque is representing the party-list group Kabayan, is a professor of law at the University of the Philippines, and is most known for the handling the cases on Maguindanao massacre and that of Jennifer Laude.
Duterte named his spokesperson on Saturday.
