Adam Garrie, political journo based in UK, in his column in 'The Duran' stated that the defeat of the leaders of ISIS aligned Maute Group is a success of President Duterte and the Philippines.

"President Rodrigo Duterte’s decision to place Mindanao under martial law has been vindicated. ISIS is now days away from annihilation in Philippines," Garrie said.

After nearly six months of fighting, the leaders of the ISIS aligned Maute Group Isnilon Hapilon and Omar Maute were confirmed dead by Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana.

The two were the last surviving leaders of the terrorsit groups.

"The success of Philippine troops against foreign funded and heavily armed terrorists has progressed according to the original plans of the President.

"With a full victory now possible in a matter of days, President Duterte's battle strategy can now be called a success."

The Maute group has expressed its support to the ISIS and began a siege of Marawi.

Duterte then was meeting with Russian president Vladimir Putin in Moscow.

As of writing, it is said that there are but less than fifty Maute members left fighting with an estimate of forty hostages left in their keep.
