Mark Lopez, an alumnus of University of Sto. Tomas, opined that the recent allocation of a mere Php. 1,000 pesos to the Commission on Human Rights was only a vote of no from Congress to the leadership of CHR char Chito Gascon.

He said it was because of Gascon's "biased leadership".

According to Lopez, the Chair only abused an office for partisan activities which he said were the presentation of witnesses against President Rodrigo Duterte, such Edgar Matobato and Arturo Lascanas. He also said that Gascon was behind the video of Vice President Leni Robredo tro the international community.

"If you really care about Human Rights, all you need to do is resign. Of course it is expected that you and your dilawan elites will milk this issue and make you appear the underdog hero being bullied by a Congress that is so allied with a very popular president," he said.

He said that this might be true, and Gascon, an appointe of former President Noynoy Aquino needed to be reminded that the Liberal Party did wrongs, such as the impeachment of former Chief Justice Renato Corona.

"These are the activities that you all did, thanks in large part to taxpayer money that was put in the coffers of CHR. Yes, we know how you keep on abusing the CHR to undermine this administration," he said.

Lopez said that Gascon is one of the leading figures in making our country look bad in the eyes of the global community.

"Yes we know Mr. Gascon, that you really are not in this to uphold Human Rights in its purest sense. You are here representing what is humanly wrong with politics! Resign now Sir!" Lopez said.

Congress on Tuesday decided in their budget hearing to give Php 1,000 as annual budget for the Commission on Human Rights, the Energy Regulatory Commission and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples.
