The said coin has been featured in GMA Network's Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho and has been made subject of several online blogs.
Coin collectors have gushed about the 1971 coin which they claim is extremely rare, having only 100 pieces of it being distributed decades ago.

The coin differed in appearance as the back portion of it shows an image of Jose Rizal’s Noli me Tangere and not the Seal of tha Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
KMJS featured an Alias Roel, who said that he was once offered one million for a 1971 coin, prompting him to search for one, and purchase one for the price of Php 10,000.
Alias Roel said that after his purchase, he tasked his cousin to transact with the buyer, only to have the coin rejected by the latter.
Alias Roel said the "pretend buyers" were only using them to scam others.
A coin expert, Boyet Manuel of the Philippine Numismatic and Antiquarian Society studied Roel's coin and found it to be a different coin manipulated to look just like the famous 1971 coin.
He said it could have been manufactured by medal makers, faking currency.
News of the coin might not be anything more than a rumor, as Maja Gratia Malic, deputy director of the Currency Issue and Integrity Office of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, said that such a coin was never released by the BSP.
