LIST: Senators and Representatives who rejected Lopez appointment

On Wednesday, May 3, 2017, the Commission on Appointments (CA) did not approve the appointment of Environment Secretary Gina Lopez after 3 confirmation hearings.

According to law, once rejected by the CA, an appointee cannot be reappointed, unlike when the body bypasses an appointment.

ABS-CBN News revealed how the bicameral Commission on Appointments (CA) voted on the appointment of Gina Lopez as secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).



As shown below, Lopez was not able to get a majority vote in the CA, with only 7 members voting to confirm her appointment.
