Retokada o hindi? Mariel de Leon's past and present photo sparks debate among netizens

After winning the Binibining Pilipinas International crown, Mariel  de Leon has moved her way into the spotlight, but this fame was intensified when she recently criticized the appointment of former sexy star Mocha Uson as Assistant Secretary of the Presidential Communications and Operations Office.

De Leon, the daughter of actors Boyet de Leon and Sandy Andolong said that she disapproves of Uson for a high position  in government because of her lacking credentials.



This caused netizens to go against her, but the talk heightened when the blog Fashion Pulis posted a photo of her in 2013 and one taken just recently.

Netizens noticed the differences in the two photos and it started a debate on whether or not the beauty queen enhanced her feautures through cosmetic surgery.

"Napanood ko sya nung unang sumali sya sa Binibini. Ibang iba ang itsura ngayon kaysa sa dati. Nasabi ko, josme bakit pilit na pinasali yan, nakakahiya para kay Boyet at Sandy. Ang nagagawa nga naman ng siyensya!" an anonymous netizen wrote.

"hindi kaya toh mamobrema sa Immigration ng airport? for sure hindi nya kamukha ang passport nya," said a KL Suchanco.

"Yung jaw, sure na. Lol. Yung ilong parang pwede sa angle at contouring, tapos nakastretch kasi lips niya. Anyway, kung bet niya naman eh, trend naman na yan sa mga pageants," said another netizen.



Other netizens defended the beauty queen.

"E ano ngayon kung nagparetoke? Wala ng beauty queen na natural ngayon noh!"

"googled more photos of her from 2013 and found more from pageant bloggers. looks like she really had something done sa nose and jaw. RF treatment siguro kasi mas square yung jaw niya before and she isn't even big before for people to say that she just lost weight. anyways, even if she may have had something done, at least sa kanya gumanda naman talaga," said another anonymous personality.

De Leon has yet to respond to this as of press time.
