Seryoso? Maria Ressa hailed sexiest woman of PH by Esquire

Rappler CEO and founder Maria  Ressa  got in line with Carla Bruni, Natalie Portman, Quen Rania, Rihanna and Aung San Suu Kyi, as she made it to the list of sexiest women alive by Esquire.com in October 2010.

Actress Minka Kelly was hailed as the top sexiest woman and was made Esquire's cover girl for its November 2010 issue.



Esquire picked 195 women for representing "something different, something beautiful, something that reveals a little bit more about who we are."

Included in the list were beauty queens, politicians, actresses, singers and models.

Diane Kruger and Rachel Hunter, model Gisele Bundchen, Miss Universe 2008 Dayana Mendoza of Venezuela, model Daisy Fuentes, and musician Andrea Corr were part of the list as well.

Ressa was then the head of ABS-CBN News and Current Affairs Division.

She was chosen because Esquire found that,  "Despite her size, fearless enough to write an eyewitness account of Al-Qaeda."



This was a message from the agency that speaks of intelligence as being a standard of beauty.

Netizens then had a mixed reaction on the matter, with some supportive of it and some opposite.

In a tweet, nikkisantiago wrote, "Esquire, fo' real? I like Maria Ressa but she just doesn't equate to sexy-at least my definition of sexy."

"Why are people questioning Maria Ressa for making it on Esquire's sexiest woman? her smart ass is hot! love herr!" said a DouxRebelle.
