Int'l law expert hits Hontiveros: 'Ano accomplishment nya?'

Paula Defensor Knack, an international law expert and the sister of the late Miriam Defensor-Santiago through her Facebook account criticized Senator Risa Hontiveros as having no accomplishment  and is part of a plot to remove President Rodrigo Duterte from office.

The post was in reaction to a statement from the senator which read, " Sa maikling panahon bilang senadoora, marami na akong nagawa na ikauunlad ng Pilipinas at nang sambayanang Pilipino,"



Hontiveros is a rookie senator who won in the May 2016 elections.

She ran under the Koalisyon ng Daang Matuwid of former President Benigno Aquino III and landed 9th place in the elections.

Knack attacked the statement saying "Ano raw? Ano accomplishment nya?"

She said that Hontiveros is a part of a planned ouster against Duterte. She has been siding with the Liberal Party Senators. Including Antonio Trillanes, Frnaklin Drilon, Kiko Pangilinan and Leila de Lima, whom she recently visited in jail.

Hontiveros has been vocally opposing the war against drugs by the president, saying she values human rights and has also told him not to blame mainstream media for his own flaws, as Duterte is known for his tirades against Philippine mainstream media.



"Ayon sa CHR sa Netherlands, sinabi nya Risa Hontiveros is helping REMOVE POPULAR APPROVAL FROM PRES. DUTERTE AS PART OF A MASS MOVEMENT AND HE ALSO NAMED OTHERS."

She said that the senator's goal is solely to remove the sitting head of state.

Hontiveros is known to be part of the opposition of the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte.

During her time in the senate Hontiveros has advocated for health, women, LGBT and chidren's rights, fishermen and farmers' rights, government reforms and sttudents' rights.

She is also part of the coalition of legislators who passed Senate Bill 935 or the Anti-Discrimination Bill, and was successful in extending maternity leave for Filipino mothers.
