NYU alumnus on Lopez dismissal: 'Oligarchs won again, sobra na talaga'
New York University alumnus, writer and social media activist Krizette Laureta Chu lamented on the loss of Gina Lopez' appointment as Environment Secretary at the Court of Appeals on Wednesday.

Chu said that nature lost again to the oligarchs who have been "winning since forever".

She said this may be because of the fact that mining companies whom Lopez has been shutting down during the short duration of her term, give big amounts to politicians to fund their campaign.

Chu said this was an old practice.

"PUT*NG INA LANG. Sobra na talaga.WHO ARE OUR LAWMAKERS WITH MINING INTERESTS? WHO VOTED AGAINST GINA?"

Chu suggested that the people remember their names and vow to never put them in power again. She urged voters to "pour your vengeance into the ballot box" the next elections.

Those who did not support the confirmation of Lopez in the Senate were Senators Alan Cayetano, Gringo Honasan, Juan Miguel Zubiri and Panfilo Lacson.

Senators Bam Aquino, Francis Pangilinan, Franklin Drilon, JV Ejercito, Loren Legarda, Manny Pacquiao, Ralph Recto and Vicente Sotto voted for the confirmation.

Chu also commented on how Senator Cayateno who ran besides President Rodrigo Duterte in the elections is dumbfounded that some Duterte fans are against him.

"Sen. Cayetano, no offense meant, but you see, we fight for Duterte's VISION of the Philippines, we fight for Duterte because we believe in the man. Part of that vision for a better Philippines is to get Gina on board," she said.

The writer emphasized how the supporters of Duterte would back anyone who goes with the decisions of the President.

"Pro Duterte lawmakers who voted NO against GINA, please, you owe all of us an explanation as to why you went against PRRD," she said.

"Can you all just please explain why you guys we were sure would back Gina went against the president? Because for me that sets a precedent. If you can go against the President now, what will stop you from going against the President when he hurts your self interests?"

Duterte appointed Lopez as Environment Secretary last year and has since been vocally supportive of her plans.

He is now to appoint a replacement for the defeated Lopez.
