We Are Collective (WAC) in their Facebook page commented on the news that Vice President Leni Robredo has received an honorary degree, claiming that this was a degree given to her by comrades in politics.
Robredo allegedly received the award from the University of Saint Anthony in Camarines Sur, whose owner Atty Santiago Ortega Jr., is related to Senator Leila de Lima.
Both Robredo and De Lima are members of the Liberal Party.
WAC said that "superficial" awards do not legitimize one's legacy in public service.
Institutions like the Church, the Academe, and Mainstream Media that have long been tried and tested instruments of the Oligarchy are slowly beginning to crumble. Their credibility are gradually being torn to shreds by disruptive factors that tend to expose their duplicity and hypocrisy for everyone to see," the blog said.
WAC said that they still congratulate Robredo for being a doctor. They said that after she "doctored" her win on the elections, the title would legitimize her expertise.
