Lawyer calls for justice for Corona from PNoy: 'Hiling ko ay katarungan'
Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles from the University of the Philippines College of Law called on to former President Benigno Aquino III for justice for the late Renato Corona, which he denied.

Cruz-Angeles made the post on the anniversary of the late Chief Justice's death.

Corona died on April 29 of last year because of cardiac arrest.

He served as Supreme Court Chief Justice from May 10,2010 to May 29, 2012.

Corona was appointed by former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo during her appointment ban, and because of this when Aquino sat as president, he went away from tradition and had then Supreme Court Associate Justice lead his oath taking.

The impeachment that followed was attributed to the decision of the SC to give away a 6,400 hectare sugar estate owned by the family of Aquino to the farmers who have been asking for it for decades since the property was excluded from the agrarian reform program.

A year after he was impeached, Senator Jinggoy Estrada revealed that lawmakers received their respective Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF), or pork barrel, ahead of Corona’s conviction, which the Palace has denied.
