Late Interior Secretary Jesse Robredo according to the Facebook page "We Are Collective" allegedly benefited from the construction of SM City in Naga, while he served as mayor.
According to the post, Jesse who is the deceased husband of Vice President Leni Robredo got the sum from Chinese businessman Romy Tan who had it delivered to Robredo by his broker, Jun Pelagio.
Pelagio, according to the post, was entrusted by Tan to sell his land in Brgy Triangulo. Pelagio was able to transact with SM City as the location was strategic being near the Naga City Bus Terminal.
SM offered to lease the property. Tan, pleased with the actions of his broker, gave him 10 million pesos.
Robredo allegedly scolded Tan because he was not informed of the transaction, the then mayor humiliated the broker. When Tan heard about it, he knew Robredo would come in the way of the deal so he gave Pelagio 10 million to be given to Robredo.
"Dahil kumita na ng laway lang ang puhunan hindi na kinontra ni Jesse ang paglalagay ng SM Naga at nakangisi pa sa ribbon cutting ng magbukas ang SM Naga noong 2009," the post read.
