Duterte offering 1M bounty for ASG heads is strategic, says lawyer
Attty. Trixie Curz-Angeles from the University of the Philippines College of Law said on her Facebook page "Luminous by Trixie Cruz-Angeles" that the one million peso bounty offered by President Rodrigo Duterte for information regarding Abu Sayyaf Group fugitives is strategically a good call.

Cruz-Angeles said that this ensures that many will play as participants in the operations to capture the "murderers".

She explained that with the bounty for information available to the public, there is less fear in reporting the whereabouts of the ASG.

She also said that the bandits will lose public support and lose opportunity to create it.

Duterte offered one million for any information that will lead to the death or capture of any ASG member involved in the attack in Bohol.

Duterte also said that he would rather that these men were brought to him dead than alive.

“My order to the police and to the lahat, and even to the civilians wherein they should do fight and kill, ang order ko is dead or alive,” the President said in press conference during his visit to Bohol.

“Kaya yung anim na (ASG rebels), maybe scouring the safety nets kung saan sila maka-landing, I have a P1 million offer per person ako,” he said.

The president encouraged the public to report any information that they may have and then the police and military will take care of the criminals.

“Tip lang: bigay mo sa pulis pati sa military, no questions asked, we’ll not even give you names. Sabi mo lang kung saan sila then gobyerno na ang bahala,” he said.
