Doctor, netizen call "Indoctrination" as Elem textbooks depict Aquinos as "heroes"

Netizen MJ Quiambao Reyes in her Facebook page shared an image of two pages within an elementary textbook which depict Ninoy Aquino as a hero for having sacrificed his life during the Martial Law period.

"Kilala mo ba si Ninoy? Ama siya ni Pangulong Nonoy, Buhay ay inialay para sa bansang minamahal," one of the texts read.

Reyes called it "early yellow indoctrination" as the book she said will be distributed to grade two students.

Doctor Andrea Carigma also reacted to the photo and said that the Liberal Party is starting to brainwash people regardless of how young they are.

"I told you. Their campaign starts on the young ones. Even in my time, my Sibika books have the same things "Marcos is bad. Aquino is a hero." the doctor said.

She said she was in Catholic school all throughout her educational life.


"The story is weaved in goodness and faith." she said.

Taught in history classes for decades is te story that depicts former dictator Ferdinand Marcos as an antagonist and Noynoy Aquino as the country's liberator.
