Arnel Pineda's interview with BBC: I support Duterte's war on drugs campaign, we have to help him
US rock band Journey is famous for iconic hits like Don't Stop Believin' and Faithfully. It's lead singer has changed over the years - the band's current frontman is Filipino Arnel Pineda.

The BBC's Rico Hizon met him recently and asked if he supports Filipino President Duterte's war on drugs. And what it's like to be an immigrant in Trump's America.

Pineda expressed his support for the war on drugs campaign of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte on the international media.

Pres. Duterte’s campaign against the illegal drugs has undeniably sparked lots of headlines and elicited reactions. Recently, Arnel Pineda spoke his side regarding the campaign of the Chief Executive.

A BBC News video of an interview with Pineda was posted on the Facebook page Duterte Bato. Based on the video, Pineda expressed in the interview that Pres. Duterte can’t fight the illegal drugs and implement change alone.

According to the international artist, the people have to help the President.

Pineda said that he support the fight of the Chief Executive against illegal drugs. He shared that he was also once into drugs and he knows the difficulty one must overcome for him to be freed from the bondage of illegal drugs.

“I know hard it is to get out of it… You know… And then to become swayed with the calling of that demon in you,” Arnel spoke to BBC News.

The international artist also supported his stand as he said that he was into drugs for almost twenty years.
