UP alumnus to Jim Paredes: 'Nanlaki na ang mga mata mo, wala ka pa ring makita?'
"Nanlaki na ang mga mata mo sa harap ng pitong batang pro-Duterte, wala ka pa ring makita?"
This was the question posed by UP alumnus Ben Bañares, the mind behind Newskupow, to Filipino music legend Jim Paredes after he claimed that President Rodrigo Duterte "over-promised" during the presidential campaign.
In fact, according to Bañares, it is Paredes who is "lying to himself" because "hindi mo matanggap na may nagawa ang Duterte government in just seven months of its existence."
In a viral video, Paredes shouted at a pro-Duterte group and berated them in a debate on the performance of Duterte. "Lie to yourself," said Paredes to the group who, at some point, he called "cowards."
"Eh, kami nga nagtiis sa six years. Nalimutan mo ba yun?," asked Bañares referring to the six years of the administration of Former President Noynoy Aquino from 2010-2016. "Ano nga ulit ang nagawa ng anito mo?"
He then enumerated the issues that haunted the Aquino government including the death of the SAF 44, the PDAF scam, the tanim-bala controversy, and the proliferation of corruption and illegal grugs.
In the end, he called Paredes "hambog na Pilipino" the musician's supposed arrogance.\
