“People need to see government working for them. That simple.”
This is the advice of political science professor and expert Malou Tiquia to President Rodrigo R. Duterte pertaining to the issue leading to the February 25 congregation of 'yellow' supporters.
The congregation is also in time for the 31st anniversary of the Cory Aquino-led EDSA People Power Revolution in 1986.
“Show to the public you have a government that is working. Not perfect, but working and every day is laying down a block for a new PH,” Tiquia wrote on social networking site Facebook.
Tiquia also stated that all of the things that need to be done must be done immediately such as reforms, announcements, and consultations.
“If there is something to launch, launch it. If there is a consultation needed to be made, do it. If there are reform packages ripe for announcement, make a public presentation,” stated Tiquia.
She said that a working government will always “get the crowd’s support” compared to the opposition whom Tiquia described as “neither here nor there.”
As for her message for Duterte, Tiquia said, “Mr. President, the stage is set, frame it! And frame it well.”
Towards the end, Tiquia advised, “Show, don’t tell.” She also said that the love and care index should be built by the government.

The best way to counter all these propaganda leading to Feb 25 is to work, work, work. Show to the public you have a government that is working. Not perfect, but working and every day is laying down a block for a new PH.
If there is something to launch, launch it. If there is a consultation needed to be made, do it. If there are reform packages ripe for announcement, make a public presentation. In short, a government seen as working viz a group which is neither here nor there (opposition or user) will always get the crowd's support.
Mr. President, the stage is set, frame it! And frame it well.
Show don't tell. Ever heard of love and care index in politics (pagmamahal at pagmamalasakit), build it.
People need to see government working for them. That simple.
