The Philippines is among the 32 strongest economy in the world by 2050 as predicted by a report from professional services giant PwC.

The ranking is based on their projected global gross domestic product by purchasing power parity (PPP).

Independent UK reported that the PPP is what macroeconomists use to “determine the economic productivity and standards of living among countries across a certain time period.”

Among those included in the list are ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Included also are Asian strongholds South Korea, Japan, India.

Topping the list was China with a projected PPP of $58.499 trillion. The Philippine and China have recently formed an alliance brought about by President Rodrigo Duterte.

The report also predicted the dropping down of giant economies of today such as Japan and Germany and to be replaced by “currently emerging markets.”
