Speaking before her supportes in February 14, the lady senator asked that she be put in a “safe and secure” cell once she is arrested in fear of her own life.

“Kasi marami na hong nangyayari 'di ba, pinapapatay sa loob ng selda, so what is another EJK?” remarked De Lima.

Rappler reported that as of writing, De Lima has not come up with a “safe” location. She also denied requesting special treatment and merely asked to be “secured.”

De Lima’s worry comes after the death of Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. who was killed in prison on November 2016.

Despite her woes, De Lima stated that she will not resist should the arrest be made.

“Wala naman akong magagawa,” she exclaimed.

Supporters of De Lima, Every Woman group, came to her office on Valentine’s Day ahead of her rumored impending arrest.

Included in those who visited the lady senator are former social welfare secretary Dinky Soliman, former peace process adviser Teresita Deles, and former human rights commission chief Etta Rosales.
