Radio journalist ED Dan Verzola took to Facebook to express his dissenting remarks towards bishops and priests of the Catholic Church who who have reported expressed strong opposition to the killings linked to the Duterte administration’s war on drugs.
He quipped at the men of the clergy who claim that it was God who gave humans their lives therefore it is only right that the right to take lives remain solely in the discretion of God.
The radio anchor said, “Bawal daw ang pumatay dahil diyos lang daw nila ang nagbigay ng buhay at diyos lang din nila ang puwede kumuha ng buhay.”
In his Facebook post, Verzola also offered advice to the Magisterium to to put up its own drug rehabilitation centers, schools hospitals, and other social services consistent to that offered by the government all for the sake of those it deems “poor” and victims of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu.
Ending his statement, Verzola reminded the church that its funds also come from the public who attend mass and other religious services thereby it is fir that the church returns it back as if it owes the public.
Verzola spewed one more tirade saying, “Wala ba kayong kahihiyan?”
