Actress Cynthia Patag posted on Tuesday, February 28, an intelligence report she allegedly received exposing the tactic used by government officials to gather protesters during the the EDSA revolution anniversary vigil last February 25.
According to the anonymous tip, local barangay employees were gathered in an "emergency meeting" on Friday night, February 24, for the said vigil held at the Luneta Park. The order was sadi to have come from the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
"May order galing sa DILG para sa mga Mayors na lahat ng barangay ay magpadala ng tao," stated the report.
The report mandated all Mayors to require barangays to send over 300 persons in exchange for an amount over P150,000, giving P500 for each person joining the vigil. The source furthered that employees were asked to bring five persons each.
The transportation expenses to and from Luneta were said to be covered.
The source asked no to be named in fear of losing his/her job.
