Doctor Ethel Pineda on her Facebook page blamed the media and the slow justice system for latestdrop of the Philippines in its ranking in the World Justice Project's (WJP) 2016 Rule of Law Index that Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno pointed to the spike of extrajudicial killings in the country's war against drugs.

Pineda said that the drop was caused by mainstream media's attempts to make the killings appear bad.

"Remember, it doesn’t have to be true. It just has to look that way. And the World Justice Project people bit. Nay; swallowed, hook line, and sinker," she said.

"The 80% approval rating of the President by the Filipinos renders the WJP ranking dubious and disputable.," she added.

The doctor gave a reminder that the Supreme Court is unable to act immediately on the recent case filed by Bongbong Marcos accusing the Liberal Party of electoral fraud.

"What is certain though, is the inability of the Supreme Court to act with dispatch on the electoral protest regarding the vice presidential election result. May we remind Justice Sereno of the adage “Justice delayed is justice denied,” she said.
