Doctor on Alvarez urging Bato to resign: Dont fight each other, that's what opposition wants
Doctor Ethel Pineda on her Facebook account, said that House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez asking Philippine National Police Chief General Ronald Dela Rosa to resign is detrimental to the administration of President Rodrigo Duterte and is exactly what the opposition wants.
Alvarez criticized Dela Rosa following the murder of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo inside Camp Crame.
Pineda said that Duterte should reprimand his men and tell them to not show animosity towards each other.
"The speaker of the house criticizing the PNP Chief because he does not want the president to be embarrassed by General Dela Rosa is doing worse damage by broadcasting his censure. He is making it appear that the president cannot take care of the situation by himself. The matter should have been taken up in private," she said.
Pineda said Alvarez should have been discreet.
"A crack in the team, that's another peg the opposition is waiting for to hang their coats on," she said.
Alvarez made the statement on Friday and said that the PNP Chief seems to be more interested in having a career in show business.
“Dela Rosa should buckle down to work or better yet give the job to someone else who is dead serious in leading the PNP in its multi-pronged war against drugs, criminals and the scalawags within its ranks,” he said.
