Senator Bam Aquino has spoken about the Mamasampano siege in Minadano two years ago. This time, he admitted that his cousin, former President Noynoy Aquino, does have a responsibility over the siege that killed 44 members of the Special Action Force.

"Actually meron siyang pananagutan sabi nya.. sya ang ultimately responsible no."

In a video uploaded by PolitkoWatch, the 39-year-old statesman said that this comes after the former president’s statement saying, “Sabi nya sya ang ultimately responsible.”

For the past two years, debates about whether the tragedy had Aquino to blame started as parties kept pointing at each other. The former president also drew flak for not attending the arrival rights, which honored the slain SAF44 at the Villamor Airbase.

PNoy attended instead the inauguration of the Mitsubishi Motors plant in Laguna that day. His staff was quick to defend the former president reasoning that Aquino was already “scheduled to attend” the event.

In the video, Sen. Aquino added that it was an appreciated the move that his cousin took responsibility for the Mamasapano siege.

But when asked why there is a need to reopen the case, Sen. Aquino chose not to answer for himself but rather suggested that the question be forwarded to Malancañang because it was ‘after all the palace’s decision.’
