Vice President Leni Robredo on Wednesday said that 8 in 10 Filipinos worry about being a victim of extrajudicial killings (EJKs) and that this is a sign of the government of President Rodrigo Duterte "failing" the people.
“Binigo natin ang sambayanan kung pati ang mga inosenteng tao ay natatakot at pinangangambahan ang kanilang kaligtasan,” she said.
Robredo also expressed alarm over the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte that he would execute five to six people everyday should the death penalty be imposed.
“Ang tunay na sagot sa pagsupil sa mga krimen ay ang maigting na pagpapatupad ng mga batas at ang pagtutulungan ng mamamayan at pamahalaan,” she said.
Robredo has been vocal on her oppositions since she resigned from the President's Cabinet.
