Political analyst Antonio Contreras despite his recent statements in defense of President Rodrigo Duterte, called on to the President on Wednesday telling him that his decision to let the policemen involved in the killing of a mayor get away with it is "problematic".
Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa was killed in his jail cell weeks ago, and the policemen who shot him are currently being protected by the President, with him saying that he will not let them go to prison.
This, despite the National Bureau of Investigation claiming that the killing was a "rub out".
"Mr. President, the NBI which is under you said the CIDG committed murder. What do you mean when you say you will not allow them to go to jail, but at the same time say you will not interfere?" he wrote.
"We want you to be clear on this, Sir, since the message is so problematic, more so that your allies in the House just voted to restore the death penalty for crimes that would include murder." he added.
