Duterte proved his executive experience during Nina, says political expert
Malou Tiquia said on her Facebook page that President Rodrigo Duterte proved his executive experience in handling disasters during typhoon Nina.
"From Midsayap to Catanduanes and CamSur, he was there. Unlike the previous head who was MIA for 3 days or over a week. He also made decisions on the ground, as briefed." she said.
Tiquia said that for once, the regional offices of frontline agencies were on the ground as the typhoon hit and were immediately out to check damages.
Cabinet secretaries can be reached and had updated data, real time, case in point, DA, DSWD and DPWH. Police and military were also on standby.
She said that from typhoon Yolanda, the government had several leanings such as the roads need to be cleared, non politicos should be members of the barangay so there would be efficient distribution of goods and that assistance is delivered, and victims are not made to line up.
She said that the fact that Duterte refused to give out the goods himself is a point to all politicians waiting to get an opportunity from the disaster.
"Presidential orders were made. Let us see if concerned cabinet agencies will follow through." she said.
