Political analyst and professor of political science Antonio Contreras questioned whether the recent admission of Senator Leila de Lima on her affair with her driver, Ronnie Dayan, might get her disbarred.

Contreras mentioned that "adultery" may lead to the disbarment, as stated in A.C no 7136.

He said that he never had an issue with De Lima's affair with a married man, and that he does not judge her by her private sins.

"Besides, even without her admission I already knew the truth as it was already common knowledge among employees at the DOJ." he wrote.

But he said he judged her by her public sins.

He said that included the allegations that her driver-lover became a conduit for seeking and dispensing favors.

De Lima admitted her relationship with Dayan in an exclusive interview with Winnie Monsod on "Bawal ang Pasaway kay Mareng Winnie" on GMA News TV.

De Lima described her involvement with her driver as "frailties of a woman."

However, she denied accusations of their involvement with drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison and the alleged use of drug money to fund her senatorial campaign.
