Alvarez to De Lima: I'm sincerely sorry

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez apologized to Senator Leila de Lima for the "inapropriate" questions thrown at her former lover, Ronnie Dayan at the House probe on the proliferation of drugs in the New Bilibid Prisons.

Dayan was asked questions about his affair with De Lima and about an alleged sex video.

Alvarez, who headed the probe, said the congressmen who questioned Ronnie Dayan wee just human, and asked for De Lima's forgiveness sincerely.

However, he still maintained that the questions were  necessary in determining the truth.

"Pero 'yung pagtatanong doon sa relationship, kinakailangan 'yun. Bakit? Here is a woman pretending to be clean, pretending to be a crime buster, a graft buster, a self-proclaimed righteous individual. Kailangan nating ipakita sa taong bayan kung anong klaseng tao ito," he said.

"Save for those few questions na I have to apologize…. 'Di ko maalala basta 'yung sa tingin 'nyo na 'di maganda, 'di mag-apologize na 'ko" he added.

Members of the House Justice have been criticized for the questions they threw at Dayan.
