Court battle with De Lima will be the ‘trial of the century’, says Aguirre
“Alam niyo, matagal na akong nakikipaglaban sa malalaking kaso eh. Pagdating sa kaso tulad niyang kay Sen. Leila de Lima, kakasuhan mo eh siguradong napakagaling ng mga lawyers niyan. Palagay ko labanan ng siglo ito pag nagkataon.”
This was the response of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II to the reporters when he was asked if he believes the allegation that De Lima received money from drug lords was enough for a case to be filed against her.
Aguirre added he is taking his time in compiling all the evidences against Sen. Senator Leila de Lima because he expects an epic courtroom showdown to happen once the charges have been filed.
Aguirre told media to be patient as to when the cases will be filed against the neophyte senator as he wanted the charges to be based on solid evidence.
“Hindi ako ‘yung basta-basta nagfa-file ng kaso. Gusto ko pag ako nag-file ng kaso, talagang matibay,” he ended.
