In the latest reports, the Ombudsman will not probe Senator Leila de Lima's alleged links to drug trade.
"Lahat naman allegations itong mga ito eh. Wala pa namang lead talaga na that would prompt us to initiate our investigation," Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales said.
On another note, former Department of Interior and Local Government chief Rafael Alunan III sheds light to the issue and said that cases against De Lima have been filed and the DOJ is the handler.
He said VACC and 2 National Bureau of Investigation executives have filed their respective cases against her, which were involvement with narco-politics, specifically payolas to fund her campaign.
"The Department of Justice is assessing the documents for substantial proof to warrant elevation to a court of law".
He said the hearings were meant to find out what happened inside the New Bilibid Prisons and why the drug trade flourished in it.
"They won't recommend prosecution out of inter-parliamentary courtesy." he said.
"The important thing is that the wheels of justice have begun with the filing of cases, with possibly more to come" he added.
