President Rodrigo Duterte has arrived in China for his four-day visit in the Philippines' long standing ally.
Chinese officials and Chinese Ambassador Zhao Juanhua greeted the President at the Beijing Capital International Airport.
According to sources, the President is to consider opening a joint exploration for oil in the West Philippine Sea with China.
Malacanang has yet to confirm if this is true.
Duterte will meet Chinese officials and businessmen to boost China's relations with the country.
The economy is expected to improve because of his visit.
