Ariel Rivera on Duterte: I support him but everytime I watch him, I cringe

According to singer Ariel Rivera, he supports President Rodrigo Duterte's war against drugs.

He said he believed that the president must give focus on the country's dilemma on corruption.

“I've always said from the very beginning, one of our biggest problems in the Philippines is corruption," he said.

"“Ang root of our problem in the Philippines is corruption, kasama rin yung drugs.Kung yun ang tina-target niya, good for him," he added.

Rivera said that the real cause of the country's problem with corruption and an unreliable government is poverty.


“Ayusin niya yung root ng problem natin.” Rivera said.

He called the performance of Aquino as "okay" but claimed that the conditions in Bilibid were a setback.

Rivera claims he understood the goal of the president, but his methods were not flawless. He claimed that Duterte's tirades were not favorable.

"He gets my approval, but like I said, when I watch him on TV, nagsasalita, I cringe! Tama naman silang lahat, he should be more dignified."

Rivera said Duterte has the burden of representing the country and must therefore act properly.
