Following the bombing incident in Davao that killed 14 people and injured more, the United States expressed its readiness to provide necessary assistance to the Philippine government in the investigation of the incident.

National Security Council Spokesperson Ned Price issues a statement on the US government’s deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of the bombing incident. They also offered their prayers for the wounded.

Price also disclosed that US President Barack Obama will be having an opportunity to personally offer his condolences to the Philippine president when the both of them would meet on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Laos.

The explosion happened around 10 PM at a popular night market in Roxas Avenue, where people would gather to shop.

Ten people died at the scene while another two died in the Southern Philippines Medical Center. 60 people were seriously injured.

Parts of a suspected improvised explosive device or IED were found in the area where the explosion happened. ASCS
