Edgar Matobato, an alleged member of the Davao Death Squad (DDS), dropped a bombshell at the Senate on Thursday.

He was presented by Sen. Leila De Lima as witness at the senate hearing about extra judicial violence.

Sotto, Lacson, Cayetano doubtful to Matobato

Senators Tito Sotto, Panfilo Lacson and Alan Peter Cayetano grilled the witness and in the end, they were doubtful on the answers of Motabato.

"Halatang nagsisinungaling sya Madam chair," Sen. Cayetano to De Lima.

“Tinesting ko kung drawing lang or imbento at dinala ka dito para pabagsakin ang administrasyong ito,” senator Alan added said to the witness.

Meanwhile, Sen. Lacson was not convinced on Matobato’s statement that a certain terrorist suspect “Sali Makdum” was abducted in 2002 and was brought to the office of the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force (PAOCTF) supposedly to be killed.

“Wala nang PAOCTF noong 2002 kasi ako’y senador na nung 2001 at nawala na yung PAOCTF,” Lacson said.

Sen. Tito Sotto expressed his displeasure of giving a witness protection to Matobato under the Senate witness protection program as Sen. Trillanes has proposed in the senate inquiry on the extra-judicial killings in the Philippines which has taken the lives of 3,000 Filipinos in two months.
