Man uses four-year old child as shield during buy-bust operation
A four-year old child died after being used as a shield by her father during a buy-bust operation that ended in a shootout in Negros Occidental.
According to GMA news, the child was in a critical condition around four in the afternoon, September first, and that the bullet that hit her back has yet to be taken.
In a separate report from the same network, it was said that the child passed away while being operated on and that the father, identified as Aldrick Barbon, was a target of the police in a buy-bust operation in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental.
Barbon attempted to flee but once cornered by the police, he used his child as a human shield. “Noong babarilin n asana niya ang pulis natin, he tried to fire his firearm, kaya kumilos na ang mga back-up para ma-immobilize siya dahil talagang desidido siyang patayin ang pulis. Nag-retaliate ang pulis to immobilize him. Two shots lang sa katawan. We don’t have the intent to kill,” said Guihulngan Police chief Supt. D’Artagnan Katalbas.
