Senator Leila de Lima reiterated on Sunday that she does not approve of an inquiry of the house representative she says was ordered by the president to destroy her.
“With or without an invitation, I will NOT attend that hearing. I will not even send any representative, lawyer or even an observer. I’m not at all recognizing that proceedings,” De Lima said in a statement late Sunday night.
The House of Representatives will investigate the alleged proliferation of illegal drugs at the New Bilibid Prison when De Lima served as Justice Secretary.
A top ranking government official, along with inmates is reported to testify in the probe against the senator.
Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre said that the official would detail how he had supposedly delivered P5 million worth of drug money to De Lima's residence in Paranaque while she was still secretary. MJM
