Karla Monique Olandesca thought she was shaming a man for not giving her his seat at the MRT, but the shaming got directed to her.

Olandesca claims that she was on her way home riding the Manila Railway Transit when she encountered a man who kept a blind eye on her standing and did not offer her his seat. She took a photo of the man and posted it on Facebook claiming that he “failed to be a gentleman”.

Olandesca claims men are obligated to give their seats to women.

Many citizens reacted to the post calling her “ugly, judgmental, narrow-minded and ill-mannered.” Some claimed that buying a ticket entitles riders  to a seat and are not obligated to give them to others but instead, it is up to them to decide whether to give it to someone else or not.

There are also others who claim that Olandesca’s actions were a form of Cyberbullying. There were a few however, who approved her stance.
