After President Rodrigo Duterte publicly read his list of officials involved in illegal drug trade, Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno sent the President a letter on her concern over the public declaration of the names.

The letter was sent through Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II.

High court’s Public Information Chief Theodore Te said, “In response to the President’s statement of August 7, where he named 7 judges among others as being included in the illegal drug trade, the Chief Justice today sent President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, through the Secretary of Justice, a letter circulating her concerns over the public declaration made by the President.”

Aguirre personally received the letter and will be made public as soon as its release is cleared by both the President and the Chief Justice. ASCS
