Sereno chooses to keep quiet on Pres. Duterte’s remarks

Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on Wednesday stayed silent about President Rodrigo Duterte's comments against her, saying there is no need for her to react.

Supreme Court Public Information Office chief Theodore Te, who reported the reaction for Sereno's sake, said he would not like to include nor make comments or express opinions when requested subtle elements. 


The Sereno Supreme Court has by and large ceased from remarking on political issues and even on cases it chooses, an arrangement that the legal embraced in 2012. 

As Sereno said when she assumed office, “Wisdom leads me to seek to return the Supreme Court to its days of dignified silence—when its justices were heard when read through their writings, and when the actions of the court were best seen in their collective resolutions."

Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has already ordered to investigate the four judges who are allegedly involved to drugs.
