On top of the 159 personalities named by President Rodrigo R. Dutertee early Sunday, August 7 at the Camp Panacan, Davao City, the Malacanan Palace warned more personalities who are allegedly linked in illegal drugs trading will be exposed.

This, as announced by Communications Secretary Martin Andanar underscoring Duterte’s undaunted action is but a clear reflection of this administration’s sincerity in its campaign against illegal drugs.

Meanwhile, Andanar urged the named personalities to surrender so that they can clear their names.

“The President is encouraging all of the persons of interest, ‘yung mga alleged drug lords and drug coddlers na ‘to come up — to come out in the open to surrender themselves and submit themselves to thorough investigation if they want to clear their names,” Andanar said.

Andanar added that the exposé made by Duterte reflects this administrations sincerity in its campaign against illegal drugs.

“Ito po ay nagpapakita lamang ng sinseridad mula sa ating Pangulo na wala pong excused dito, wala pong sacred cows sa paghahanap, pagsusugpo at pag-aanunsyo, page-exposé nitong mga pangalan ng mga matataas na miyembro ng ating gobyerno dito sa salot na droga na ito,” he said.

Duterte named over 150 personalities who are allegedly connected to the illegal drug trade. Most of the dragged names denied allegations.

Mayors in Iloilo who was described by the tough-talking President as the most “shabulized” are in the country, denied President Rodrigo Duterte's allegation that they are involved in the illegal drug trade.

Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog said it is "very unfortunate and disconcerting" that his name was included in the long list of "narco-politicians" tagged by Duterte.

"I can categorically say that I am not involved in the protection, trade and use of illegal drugs," he said at a press conference. I am willing to open myself for any investigation, cooperate and submit myself to any court of law," he said in a report.

On the other hand, Mayor Sigfredo Betita of Carles, Iloilo said he is not disturbed at all about his inclusion in Duterte's list as he claims to be clean and that the President was just fed by wrong information.

In a report, he denied any involvement in illegal drugs and claimed that the allegation was politically motivated. But he also admitted that alleged drug lord Melvin "Boyet" Odicta, Sr. is his distant relative. AJRSP
