The Davao City Hall may be a free Wi-Fi hotspot but employees can only access websites that will not distract them or affect their productivity.

Lawyer Zuleika T. Lopez, the city administrator, has also prohibited employees from playing the popular role-playing game (RPG) Pokemon Go, Dota, and other mobile application games.

Lopez has issued the order through memorandum just as the whole City Hall building has been given free internet access under the Juan Konek project of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT).

The memorandum was addressed to all local government employees, ordering them to refrain from  using social networking and online shopping sites during official working hours.

Among the restricted  sites are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Lazada.

“Moreso, playing games such as Pokemon Go, Candy Crush, DOTA as well as blogging, downloading and watching videos (are prohibited),” the memo read.

The free Wi-Fi connectivity at the city hall including Peoples, Osmena and Rizal parks is a joint project of the City Government and DICT.

With the free Wi-Fi, people can enjoy 100MB of data for free. AJRSP
