DAVAO CITY -- PRESIDENT Rodrigo Duterte has issued a "shoot-to-kill" order against narco-politicians yesterday.
These narco-politicians, he said, will be named soon in public.
“Maghanap lang kayo ng kasalanan, wag yan (drugs), siguradong mamatay kayo, and ako… I will… for as long as it is done by the performance or duty of the soldiers and police, akin yan, that is my official and personal guarantee, I will answer for the deed, and pumunta ka sa akin kung sino kang gusto makausap sa akin, basta kapag may pulis na enkwentro dyan, wag niyo ng imbestigahan, order ko yan,” the President said in an ambush interview by the media around three in the morning Friday, August 5.
Duterte made the pronouncement after visiting the wounded town police chief of Magsaysay, Davao del Sur identified as chief Insp. Ricky Boy Remoroza.
Remoroza was criticially wounded in the chest last Wednesday while serving a warrant of arrest against a suspected drug pusher in his town. He was rushed to the Southern Philippines Medical Center here in Davao City where Duterte visited him.
“Shoot to kill is to shoot and kill him, wag kang magsayang ng bala,” Duterte said.
He also clarified that all the killing incidents linked to illegal drugs is not planned by the law enforcers but actually was just a self-defense.
When asked if the shoot to kill order he just issued against narcopoliticians would mean only if the suspects are armed and dangerous and would put up a fight, President Duterte said "sa bibig ko walang due process due process".
Police officials we earlier talked to however said that they all know how to follow a legal order. And a legal shoot to kill order only pertains for suspects who would put up a fight against the authorities when confronted. AJRSP
